Four Reasons We Love Being Based in Liverpool

Liverpool is an amazing and unique city full of exciting things to do. It is home to The Beatles, has an outstanding food scene and offers some of the UK’s best attractions. Below we take a look at four of the top reasons that we love being based in Liverpool.

1. Liverpool is a warm and welcoming city

Liverpool was actually voted the fourth most friendliest city in the world, beating the likes of Budapest, Tokyo and Vancouver. Liverpudlians are known to be welcoming, friendly and helpful; as soon as you step into the city you feel right at home around smiling and welcoming faces. Around 75 million tourists visit Liverpool each year and it’s not hard to see why. Naturally, people are attracted to happy cities.

2. There is some great art

Liverpool is home to some amazing art venues – from modern abstract art spaces to beautiful traditional art galleries, Liverpool’s art scene is not one to be missed. The Open Eye Gallery is a fantastic place to visit if you like photography; you can experience fascinating storytelling through interesting photographs. The Lady Lever Art Gallery is home to one of England’s best collections of decorative and fine art, making it an absolute must for anyone enthusiastic about fine art. The gallery displays extravagant 19th-century sculptures and paintings, as well as beautiful collections of Chinese ceramics and English furniture.

3. Amazing museums

Liverpool has some great museums, including the Merseyside Maritime Museum, International Slavery Museum and the Museum of Liverpool. One of our favourite museums to visit is the World Museum which houses over 20,000 fascinating items. A trip to the World Museum will take you through an extraordinary journey through time, exploring and displaying the history of the Earth in the form of interesting exhibits and fun activities. The ancient Egyptian gallery is one of the most impressive in Europe. In this gallery you can embark on a 5,000 year Egyptian adventure, learning all about the history of the pharaohs, ancient Egyptian rituals and seeing some of the most intriguing artifacts for yourself.

4. It is a great accessible city

One of the main reasons that we love Liverpool is because it is a great accessible city – in fact, according to Liverpool Echo, Liverpool is one of the UK’s most accessible cities. Many museums, galleries, restaurants and bars all offer excellent and easy access for wheelchair users meaning that everyone can enjoy a taste of Liverpool and it’s fantastic offerings.
